Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Do I need an appointment to visit your slab yard or showroom?

Walk-ins are always welcome, but we recommend scheduling an appointment to ensure dedicated assistance with slab viewing, project questions, and selections and figuring slab count needed (if not already determined before visit.

2. Do you still offer fabrication and installation services to clients who have already purchased slabs from other slab yards/ suppliers.

Yes, we do. Please note a slab pick up fee will be added and will depend on location of slab yard. (Slab pick up fee will depend on distance from our shop. Please note, pick up fee does not apply to yards who offer delivery (Arizona Tile, Stone Systems, MSI.)

3. Can I purchase slabs and have another company do the fabrication and installation for the countertops?

Yes, we can sell you the slabs and your fabricator and pick up slabs from our warehouse Monday thru Friday between 9 AM - 4 PM.

4. Do you offer digital template layout approval prior to slab fabrication?

Yes, for an additional fee (fee will depend on # of slabs) we do offer digital template layout approval on select natural stone, quartz or porcelain slabs. Please note some quartz slab designs/colors are not available for digital template layout (light veining, subtle patterns will not show up on photos.)

5. What types of materials do you offer?

We carry a wide selection of Quartzite, Dolomite, Marble, Granite, Cristallo, and Quartz/Mineral, porcelain/sintered surfaces from top brands such as Cambria, Della Terra Quartz, Endure Quartz, Silestone, Q from MSI) —plus new inventory imported regularly. Please note we do not carry pre-fabricated slabs.

6. Do you fabricate and install countertops in-house?

Yes! We are a full-service, one-stop shop. We handle slab selection, laser templating, fabrication, and professional installation—start to finish.

7. Can I bring my contractor or designer with me?

Absolutely. We encourage collaboration and welcome you to bring your contractor, designer, or architect to your appointment.

8. What is the typical project timeline?

Timeframes vary, but most kitchen projects take 1–2 weeks from templating to installation once final decisions and measurements are confirmed. Please note our schedule typically books 3-4 weeks in advance so in order to ensure your countertops and backsplashes (if applicable) are installed in a timely manner we highly recommend planning ahead to reduce down time (especially when new cabinets are being installed). Cabinet installation delays will require us to reschedule templating to the next available date and also reschedule installation.

9. What should I have before scheduling a template?

Please ensure you have:

For new cabinets: please be sure to have cabinet bases installed and leveled. We cannot template if any cabinet bases are missing as it could affect the template and installation.

Existing cabinets with tile countertops may need to have existing countertops removed prior to laser templating to ensure we can verify cabinet level.

Existing cabinets with granite or quartz countertops  may be templated with existing countertops in place and demoed on same day of installation (This is a case by case, please ask your sales team to see if your kitchen layout would be a good candidate for template prior to demo.)

Range/cooktop, sinks, and fixtures on-site (We also sell sinks, ask our sales team about our sink options).

Farm sinks/apron front sinks need to be mounted on cabinet before scheduled laser template. This will help us determine the sink reveal during template. If farm sink is not in place, we will need to reschedule template to the next available template date on our schedule which will likely delay counter installation.

Surfaces cleared off of any small appliances to ensure our template technician can laser template without any obstruction.

Full Height Slab Backsplash  please have hood/microwave installed in order for us to template to the bottom of hood or microwave. Under cabinet lighting needs to be installed after slab backsplash to ensure they don't get in the way of slab backsplash installation.

10. Do you offer remnants for smaller projects?

Yes, we have a large remnant selection perfect for bathrooms, laundry rooms, fireplaces, shelves, shower dams, benches or niches and small countertops. Please call and schedule an appointment to see our remnant options (Appointments are required).

11. Do you carry pre fabricated slabs or fabricate pre fabricated slabs?

No, we do not carry pre fabricated slabs or offer fabrication and installation on pre fabricated slabs. We specialize in custom fabrication and installation only. We do have remnants that can be an alternative for smaller projects. 

12. What edge profiles do you offer?

We offer a variety of edge options including Eased, Bevel, Bullnose, Miter, Ogee Square, Ogee Bullnose. Other custom edges are available. Our team will guide you based on style and material.

13. Do you seal natural stone?

Yes— for natural stone surfaces like Quartzite, Dolomite, and Marble countertops our install team offers a courtesy sealing upon installation of countertops. We do not offer sealing services only. Please reach out to Pellegrino Stone Care.

14. Do you offer countertop repairs such as refinishing, fixing chips, scratches, stains removal or sealing services?

No, we recommend reaching out to Pellegrino Stone Care for these types of repairs or services.

15. What's the difference between Quartz, Natural Stone & Sintered/Porcelain Slabs?

• Quartz and Mineral Surfaces are engineered (man made) low maintenance, and non-porous. Great for kitchens, shower walls, bathrooms. However, quartz is not suitable for outdoor use due to UV exposure. UV exposure can cause quartz surface to fade, warp, yellow, crack or other damage.
• Natural stone offers unique veining, heat resistance, and one-of-a-kind beauty shaped by nature.
• Sintered/Porcelain slabs are UV and weather resistant surfaces great for indoor or outdoor kitchens, facades, shower walls, fireplace surrounds. Its heat resistant, scratch resistant, stain resistant and non porous but labor cost is 40-50% more than quartz labor.

16. Can I hold/secure a slab?

Clearance/Sale slabs cannot be reserved/held without payment in full. Some slabs can be reserved/held for up to 72 hours. Please ask your rep. Holds expire automatically without notice. If you would like to secure slabs, slabs would have to be paid in full.

17. Do you offer financing?

18. Do you work with outdoor kitchens and fireplaces?

Yes, we fabricate and install surfaces for outdoor kitchens, BBQs, fireplaces, feature walls

19. How should I care for my new countertops?

Use a pH-neutral cleaner

Avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemicals

Wipe spills promptly (Please note sealing does not make countertops stain proof.)

Use trivets/hot pads for extreme heat (for Quartz or Natural Stone Surfaces)

20. How do I get a quote?
